RAISE recognizes the importance of providing services for refugees and immigrants that come to America to facilitate community integration and prevent isolation.

RAISE receives Refugees, Legal Immigrants, Asylees, Humanitarian Parolees, and others with a Temporary Protected Status and assists them in becoming self-sufficient in the Joplin, MO area.

As a Local Resettlement Agency (LRA), RAISE supports newly placed refugees during their first 90 days in the USA. This 90-day buffer period is called Resettlement and Placement (R&P), which gives refugees time to acclimate to life in the USA. Most refugees require assistance past the allotted R&P limit. RAISE provides Refugee Support Services (RSS) to refugees up to 5 years after initial arrival in the USA. Some of the main services RAISE provides are case management, English Language education, Job Readiness Training and employment support, and makes referrals to other agencies as needed.
