RAISE recognizes the importance of providing services for refugees and immigrants that come to this country seeking a better life or feeling any persecution.
RAISE receives refugees, immigrants, asylees, humanitarian parolees, and entrants and assists them in becoming self-sufficient in the Joplin, MO area; however, many of the services RAISE provides are targeted especially toward refugees.
As a Local Resettlement Agency (LRA), RAISE supports newly placed refugees during their first 90 days in the USA. This 90-day buffer period is called Resettlement and Placement (R&P), which gives refugees time to acclimate to life in the USA. Nonetheless, most refugees will still require assistance past the allotted R&P limit. RAISE will continue to provide Refugee Support Services (RSS) to refugees up to 5 years after initial arrival in the USA. RAISE provides case management services and ESL services, as well as making referrals to other agencies as needed.
our focus

Our focus is to walk with refugees from arrival to self-sufficiency by assisting clients to apply for Federal and State benefits.
Our focus is also on job skills training, ESL, school enrollment assistance, health service referrals, and other case management services.
We put a significant emphasis on the importance of those who come to our country facing persecution or are seeking a better life, and RAISE intends to serve them well.
